2012 Vocabulary Symposium

09:00 to 09:50 - Registration
10:00 to 12:00 Symposium One: Vocabulary Learning
12:30 to 14:00 Lunch and Poster session
14:15 to 16:15 Symposium Two: Vocabulary Assessment
17:00 to 22:00 Dinner and Drinks

Format
Two symposiums were held: Vocabulary learning and instruction
(morning) and Vocabulary assessment (afternoon). Each Symposium
consisted of 4 invited speakers and one invited discussant. Each presenter
spoke for 20 minutes on his or her empirical paper. Finally, the
discussant commented on the presentations drawing them together and the
floor was opened for discussion.
During lunch poster presentations were displayed on the topics of 1) Tested
vocabulary teaching and learning strategies, 2) Ongoing Vocabulary
empirical research.
